Two people were killed and five others were injured Sunday after a home in Texas collapsed on a family as it was being taken down.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement Sunday evening that the manufactured home was in the process of being leveled when it collapsed, trapping three people under the debris.
According to the sheriff’s department, five people were rescued from beneath the remains of the house. Four of them were taken by helicopter to Houston-area hospitals and were reported in critical condition. A fifth person was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Two people, one adult and one minor, were killed in the collapse.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department said that the incident remained under investigation.
